Hi there, long time, no finished work posting..

Inspired by some fotos I've found on the net way back, I made this for my portfolio. The main design is not by me (can't remember where some of the ref.pics came from...way back as said.:/).But mostly this piece is inspired by various Italian designers.

Mostly this was a study of light and materials when working in LWF method. All materials are customized for LWF gamma 2.2 in Vray.

The floor was the hardest part. Getting the reflectionmap to look right, with a subtle bump was a challenge.

All done by me in 3dsmax 2008, rendered in Vray. Added a some boost, an AO pass and Dof in PS. Also added a bit noise on the carpet in PS.

Have to give credit to Treddi.com for the lamp right, and the sofa was a low poly freemodel which I modified pretty heavily. Yeah, also evermotion plants.

C&C are always cool..

Norwegian house: Exterior viz

Hi there!

This is a reworking of a commercial job I did a couple of months ago. I wasn't satisfied with the result, though the client was, so here it goes. (Also I have new monitor and pc and it seemed the last monitor i used were too bright)

The blueprints did give me some indications how the topology of the land was ( the curving downwards right), but it was up to me mostly.

Been using LWF method in Vray 1.5 RC 2 here and it looks good and its fast but there are problems rendering heavy scenes with displacement and so on.
Rendering time 800x600 was approx 2 hours on 1 AMD Opteron 270(dual thread), 2 GB RAM.

Vegetation (trees, hedge, flowers) is Onyx and I've also used some library-plants and a few library models.

Some post in PS mainly color correction and DOF with the cool DOF Pro plugin.

Everything else is modelled, textured, lit and rendered by me. No cad files were used here.

Anyway, thought this turned out pretty ok, so what do u think?

Hi!

My latest job.The concept brief was "maritime inspired". I got photoreferences for the furniture. Custom modeled furniture was required, but plants and white chairs were library models. yeah, also that little ol' ship there, free model.

Anyways, this is the first time I've gotten results with Vray Sun/Sky that I'm pleased with regarding quality and time. Never used it on a commercial job before.

C&C welcome of course! cheers!
